About Ted

Ted combines the city budget experience, legal and business background, community involvement, and leadership ability it takes.

• City Councilor-at-large, 4 terms and 8 city budgets
• Council President, 2005
• Finance Chairman, multiple terms
• Finance and Reserve Committee, Chair Formulated sound fiscal policies to maintain city reserves that rescued Peabody's bond rating
• Initiated the Drug Education and Awareness Task Force Raised private sector funds for school anti-drug programs
• Holy Cross College, BA degree
• Suffolk University, Juris Doctorate degree
• Has practiced law and managed a business in downtown Peabody since 1999

Ted and his wife, Andrea (Licata), both grew up in Peabody and are now raising three daughters, Taylor, Allyson and Avery.

Ted, who is a member of the Peabody Athletic Hall of Fame and once captained the Holy Cross basketball team, now coaches youth sports activities for Peabody kids today.

In these challenging times, we can all count on Ted Bettencourt to be the determined, decisive and effective Mayor we want to lead Peabody forward.
